Comets, Shubunkins and Fans (Fantails) are some of the most popular of goldfish varieties, all very hardy and ideally suited to being kept indoors and outdoors throughout Australia.
The Comet strain was first developed in Washington (USA) in the 1880's and is now the most popular single goldfish variety. With a streamlined body shape and long flowing tail, Comets are well suited to garden ponds, as well as the unheated aquarium or bowl.
These varieties are not fussy about water conditions or diet, and are very easy to care for. Like all goldfish, they are quite peaceful.
