At first glance the Butterfly Tail looks quite similar to the Dragon eye Goldfish; both having telescopic eyes, short rounded bodies and a paired tail fin. On closer inspection it can be seen that the tail of the Butterfly Tail spreads horizontally, and is beautifully symmetrical. When viewed from above, the tails butterfly-effect becomes particularly noticeable.
Butterfly Tails are ideal for the unheated aquarium or bowl, and for situations where they can be viewed from above, such as in large ceramic containers. If kept in garden ponds, ensure some protection from predators is provided.
Like all Goldfish varieties, the Butterfly Tail is not particularly fussy about water conditions or diet, and is easy to care for.
